Spiked Fortune

Studded hair band: Jennifer Behr

If you follow me on twitter then you've probably already heard all about my obsession with this studded hair band. I came across it in Liberties last week and immediately fell deeply in love with it. It makes me look like a punk rock fortune teller- what's not to love!? The price is what's not to love. £410 is waaaaay over my hair band/turban budget- even for one as beautifully made as this. I plan to do my own DIY version and hopefully that will satisfy my cravings.

I forgot to mention this in the '' post but I bumped into Wiley at the after party. He's working on some stuff at the boy's brother's record label- Back Yard. 'Electric Boogaloo' is his latest track.... You can have a listen and see the video here.

p.s anyone know where in London I can get some studs for my DIY turban? I'd prefer not to buy them online so I can see what I'm getting :)

Photographs by Kevin Morosky

My friend asked if he could use us as his subjects for his article in Ribbed Magazine. He shot us on a vintage hasselblad camera. Him and the boy had lots of fun geeking out and playing with it. We took these in the living room. We don't have a television here, instead there's a projector which Kevin LOVES! He asked us to choose a film that meant something to both of us and shot us in front of it using only the light from the projector. We choose 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'. It's the boy's favorite film and it's the film that the director asked me watch on my first ever job back when I was 16.

You can read the full article here.

Keep Clear

Dress: American Apparel. Clogs: Jeffery Campbell. Socks: Virgin airlines :)

I love the pockets in this dress, they give it a slouchy relaxed feel. The socks are those free ones that you get on Virgin flights. I love them! I collect them every time I fly with Virgin.

It's been a while since I've had the boy take my picture and it's great to have his photography skills back. His pictures make my timer shots look like a joke!

Lots of you ask about my hair... You all want the loose curly waves and I promise you they are super easy to get! I've thought about doing a hair video for you all but I realized despite being an actress the thought of talking to camera as myself freaks me out way too much! I've found a video that shows exactly what I do: LOOSE CURLY WAVES.  The only difference is that I use a slightly smaller straightening iron.

*Take a one inch section of hair and comb it through until smooth.
*Clamp your straightening iron at the root of the section of hair and with your free hand hold on to the ends of the hair.
*Rotate the iron 180 degrees and glide it down the length of the hair until you reach the ends.
*The slower you move the iron the tighter the curl will be.
*Try to alternate the direction that you rotate the iron with each section so that you get a more irregular look.
*When you've curled all of your hair run your fingers through to loosen and break up the curls.

I like my hair to look a little messy and tousled so I usually prefer it the next day after I've slept on it!

p.s I use clip in hair extensions. They only work because my own hair is long enough to blend in. My own hair finishes at breast level so the extensions don't look so obvious. If your hair is shorter then neck length then really long extensions like mine wont work! xxx

I read a ton of blogs. Bloglovin makes it really easy for me to keep track of them. I get up every morning, make a cup of tea and go to Bloglovin to see what's new on my favorite blogs. Easy peasy!

Dress: TopShop Boutique. Jacket: TopShop. Shoes: Miu Miu

This is the same outfit that I wore to the evening part of David's wedding. I'm not one of those people who only wear something once. Where's the fun in that!? It was a windy evening yesterday so I'm clamping my bag against my thigh in these pictures to avoid a 'Marilyn' moment. You can just see my girl Cyrena from Freak Deluxe in the back of the first picture. Check out her leather jacket.... She also did a home DIY stud job on hers. Looks amazing!

We arrived at the premiere REALLY hungry so we went to the after party via Mcdonalds. Mmmmmmmm. I don't usually advocate junk food but it's been ages since I ate Mcdonalds and last night it was yummy. We enjoyed sitting in there all dressed up and eating greasy french fries.

'' is Noel Clarke's latest film. I know Noel from a TV show he wrote a few years ago. I admire Noel because is a no nonsense hard worker. He's writing films and he's getting them made. Can't really argue with that, can ya!?
Red carpet moment of the evening goes to Ophelia Lovibond. She looked beautiful! Not only does she have the best name ever, she also a lovely lovely girl :)

Jeans: TopShop. Shirt: American Apparel. Clogs: Jeffery Campbell

I'm very much enjoying the antique effect in iPhoto.  It makes everything look like it's shot in 1975....

***The winner of the give away is 'oh emma'. Emma please send your address to: ringmybellblog@gmail.com***

I just picked randomly and I plan to do another give away very soon! Thanks to all of you for taking the time to enter :)

Levi Shorts: Vintage. Cut off tee: TopShop. Bag: Louis Vuitton Neverfull.
Bikini top: ASOS. Charm necklace: DIY

The weather has been AMAZING this weekend! The boy and I spent Saturday afternoon on Primrose Hill with some friends. We lazed about eating ice cream, making daisy chains and reading. Everyone else read the saturday news papers but I stuck with my Jackie Collins novel.... Far more enjoyable if you ask me!

The Louis Vuitton 'Neverfull' bag was one of the items I rediscovered on my return to London. It's the perfect picnic/beach bag. You can throw a ton of stuff in it and it's robust and durable enough to take it.

This week I'll be continuing the search for a flat. Ugh!

*** Since I posted this we found a flat! Seconds from my beloved Primrose Hill! I'll be sunning myself there all summer long :)

Trousers & vest: American Apparel. Bag: Alexander Wang. Shoes: Miu Miu

I was lucky enough to be invited to the 'Why Did I Get Married Too?' premier. I'm a big Tyler Perry fan so I was excited that his stuff is finally going to be readily available for us here in the UK. I was first introduced to Madea by my friend Daren and I've LOVED her ever since. She's not in this film but there was plenty for me enjoy anyway.

This is an old picture from my first trip to LA...

A snippet of the red carpet...

Acid Dreams

Jeans: TopShop. Vest: American Apparel. Shoes: Miu Miu

I've been very lazy with the outfit posts recently. My only excuse is that flat hunting takes up my entire life! I'm making it up to you all with lots of pictures in this post and a give away in the previous post- HERE!

Good Lord  I love these jeans! They stay skinny all the way down to the ankle... Don't you just hate it when skinny jeans aren't really skinny and basically should be called 'straight cut'? I do!

The Miu Miu shoes have become my go to shoe of the moment and have left Brian Atwood and the JC clogs feeling quite sad.

Elephant Parade and Give Away Time!!!

Elephant by Lulu Guiness ;)

I miss the sunshine and open space of LA but London is where my heart is. I love London for many reasons and yesterday the elephants in random places were added to the list.

Elephant Parade is a conservation campaign to bring attention to the plight of the endangered Asian elephant. 250 painted elephants can be found all over London.... I actually plan to visit them all and maybe buy a mini gold one for my new flat. I had my lunch in Soho Sq with two of them yesterday and then I came across this sexy fella on my way home in Carnaby St.

Give Away Time!!!!!!

I have a cute collection of goodies to give away to my wonderful readers to say thank you for all the support and lovely comments.
  • 'Elf' Lip Stain
  • 'Elf' Nail Polish
  • 'Collection London' T. Shirt
  • Hair Clip from 'Bow!'
  • 'Butterfly Twist' ballet pumps.
For a chance to win follow the blog on bloglovin (or blogger if you prefer) and leave a comment on this post with your name and email address. I'll announce the winner  on Monday so you have all weekend to enter.

Wedding Daze

Our friend David got married this weekend and it was the BEST wedding EVER.

We took these in the photo booth at the after party... We got a copy and we put a copy in the guest book. Such a cute idea!

The bride wore Givenchy and Riccardo Tisci himself was there. Tom Ford was close enough for me to touch and I danced with Mario Testino. Instead of a band the guests were entertained by synchronized swimmers in the pool at Shorditch House.  Like I said- Best. Wedding. Ever.

I'll post both of my dresses later this week :)

Apartment Porn

All I want is:

Some exposed brick...

a retro kitchen...

white walls...

dark wood floor...

and lots of light.

Is that too much to ask?

Apartment hunting SUCKS!

Miu Miu moment

Jeans: TopShop. Shirt: American Apparel. Shoes: Miu Miu

I am OBSESSED with these shoes!

My favorite TopShop 'Pippa' skinnies finally died. Bless them. They gave me many good years of service but I had to let them go. I bought these TopShop 'Jamie' skinnies in this colour and an acid wash to replace them. Goodbye 'Pippa'... Gone but not forgotten.

'The Pink House' isn't being picked up. Alas.... but that is the way of pilot season. And in other TV related news: There will be another series of 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl' but Bambi will not be part of it. She is a happily married woman now so can't be selling her body to other men ;)

Fear not though the boy will still be in it playing the gorgeous Ben!

Let Love Rule

Lenny Kravitz T Shirt: Vintage. Jeans: TopShop. Tux Jacket: Kate Moss for TopShop.

Nothing fancy today... some times it's nice just to wear jeans and a tee. This t shirt is probably the thing I wear the most out of my whole wardrobe. It always makes me feel good. If I'm having a night out and I'm stuck for an outfit I throw on my Lenny Kravitz tee with my skinniest jeans, high heels and red lipstick. Instant outfit!

I spent yesterday with Cyrena from Freak Deluxe. We camped out all afternoon in Maison Bertaux having tea and cake and then moved our camp to the rum shack in Camden in the evening for mojitos and jerk chicken. Yum :)

And........... I finally got my Miu Miu shoes! They'll be an outfit post with them soon.....

P.S New items in the shop! SHOP RING MY BELL :)
